Our Story:
For the past 10 years we have been growing the sport of canoe racing in Roscommon County through the Roscommon Canoe Classic, the longest running Michigan Canoe Racing Association pro event (42 years), and Muskegon River Throw Down, Michigan’s Best Race for 5 years straight.
It has been my mission to support the communities that support us, by displaying their banners, signs, websites, and using social media shout outs to promote their businesses. We share their content and use their facilities to host events, bringing them hundreds of racers, spectators, and family members to help promote their names.
Without these sponsors, we wouldn’t be able to have two amazing races in Roscommon County that bring competitors from throughout the Midwest, Canada, and even as far as Texas. In the past few years your support has allowed us to start two scholarship programs at Roscommon and Houghton Lake High Schools to be used for furthering their education in trades or college. This summer, a youth program will be added! We have purchased two amateur racing canoes to get young paddlers on the water and into the sport without them having to worry about the monetary issues that come with expensive equipment.
Our community partnerships truly go much further than just getting paddlers into the area. It endorses education and provides the next generation of young athletes the opportunity to enjoy our amazing rivers and waterways. We look forward to having you in the Ausable River Valley and Houghton Lake Area to keep growing the sport of canoe racing and supporting all our sponsors.
Thank You!
